Senior Adult Ministries

Your presence in our fellowship is deeply appreciated. We hope that you will find warm fellowship here and your experience will be a source of blessing and personal encouragement.

As a multi-generational church, we draw strength and inspiration from each other. The stability and maturity provided by the senior adults in our midst gives us an important balance creating a more effective ministry in our community.

Our church motto ~ Making a difference one life at a time ~ is important to us. Our senior adults help support this motto in many areas. Take a moment to acquaint yourself with some of the activities and ministries of interest to seniors. You will be most welcome at any of these.

Sunday Morning Adult Fellowships
You will find numerous Bible classes on Sunday mornings listed at the information kiosk in the lobby, but you will find most seniors in the Seekers or the Pathfinders classes at 10:00am.

Truth Talk
This is a special Bible study that meets on Sunday evenings featuring the teaching ministry of Pastor Tim Walton.  Currently Truth Talk is doing The Life of David.  We meet in the Fireside Room, 6:00-7:15pm. Summer schedule interruptions:  Truth Talk does NOT meet on July 1; does NOT meet on any of the Sundays of August; and does NOT meet on Labor Day Sunday, September 2. See you in September for a new year of Truth Talk studies!

Silver & Gold Luncheons
Meeting at noon on the 4th Tuesday of the month in the Manor; featuring food, fellowship, speakers, music, and special programming (note: No meeting in July, August, or November; December meeting on the 2nd Tuesday). All meetings are from 12-noon to 2:00pm.  Bring a luncheon dish for our delightful potluck buffet luncheon!

Women's Missionary Fellowship (WMF)
Meets at 12:00 noon for lunch on the second Tuesday in E104, October thru May. Women of all ages are welcome. The focus is on outreach ministries with an emphasis on missionaries and projects supported by our church. Each meeting features a missionary speaker.

Sewing Ladies
Gather together on the first and third Tuesday from 10:00am to 2:00pm to make quilts for refugees, street people or others in need. They are distributed by relief organizations or missionaries. Contact Nora Meissner.

Helping Hands
Are people who are willing to help others who need assistance with small home maintenance and auto problems, transportation or other personal needs. You can put your talents to work helping others or you are welcome to call for help. Contact Dave Ballbach.

Library Maintenance
Every Tuesday morning the library crew meets in our church library to organize the shelves, process books and anything else needed to keep our library functioning. If you haven't discovered our library yet, you'll find it worth your while to stop by. Contact persons are Dean & Barbara Tebow.

Adopt-A-Grandparent
Provides loving Christian visits to the homebound people of our church family. We want to make sure these dear people never feel forgotten by their church family! If you would like to get involved in visiting, contact Tim.Walton@amcc.org.
