How Long at ACC: Our family began attending in 1974
Growing Up: I was born and raised in Whatcom County - living in both Bellingham and Ferndale.  We moved to back to Ferndale when I was in the sixth grade and I graduated from Ferndale High School in 1959.
Family: Katy and I met and began dating while we were attending school in Ferndale.   We were married in 1962 while attending college in Bellingham.  We have three married sons:  David, living in Helena, MT; Doug living in Bothell; and Daryl living in Gilbert, AZ.  We have seven grandchildren.
Education: Western Washington University (I think I have attended that school under three different names.)  I have a BA in Education (Mathematics major), MA in Education (Counseling), and a Principal’s Credential.
Past Employment: I worked for the Edmonds School District for 33 years.  I spent 16 years as a high school teacher and coach, 7 years as an assistant principal, and 10 years as the Edmonds School District Athletic Director.  After retiring from education in 1996, I spent 10 years the Director of the Northwest Interscholastic Activities Association (one of nine districts of the State Association (WIAA) that is responsible for the secondary school athletic and activities programs in the State of Washington).  Also, from 1996-2000, I was the part-time Business Administrator for ACC.
Hobbies Travel, yard work (we have a large lot), being a grandparent, and watching all manner of athletic events.
Why ACC: We came to Alderwood to provide a better Bible based youth program for our three sons.  The teaching, fellowship, and opportunities for service have kept us busy throughout the years.  The ministry from the pulpit and in the adult fellowships has continued to challenge us in our Christian walk.
Favorite Books: The Bible, Western and other adventure books.
Favorite Music: Oldies and Old Hymns (I guess I’m stuck in the past.)
Remember me for: Being supportive, faithful, and loyal.
