How Long at ACC: Our family first came to ACC early in 1986. We spent one year in Texas (1987-88) and we have been back here ever since.
Growing Up: Valerie and I both grew up in New Mexico, Valerie in Santa Fe and me, in Alamogordo. We met in college at New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, and were married in college.
Family: Our extended families are scattered to the four winds, Missouri, Hawaii, New Mexico, South Dakota, Colorado, and Arizona. We have two sons, Jeffery (Seattle) age 33, and Eric (Cincinnati, Ohio), age 30.
Education: I have a Bachelor of Science in Education at NMSU, where I was also in Air Force ROTC.
Past Employment: Since graduating from college I have always been involved in aviation, first as an Air Force pilot, then as a corporate pilot in Texas. For the past 21 years I have been a pilot for Northwest Airlines.
Activities/Hobbies: Outdoors, I enjoy skiing, day hikes with Valerie, and golf (hacker). I also enjoy putzing around on our computers, working around the house, and spending as much time with my family as our schedules permit.
Why ACC: In 1985 when we moved to Seattle it was very important for us to find a doctrinally sound church that would have activities that would help us all grow spiritually. Our sons were involved in AWANA and the Bible Quiz Team and Valerie and I have been a part of small groups, to include Bible studies and Sunday school.
Great times at ACC: The camaraderie and fellowship while working with the young people in AWANA and the Quiz Team is heart-warming. It is wonderful seeing these teenagers grow up, go to college or start their careers, get married, and take the reins working with the [new] young people in the church.
Remember Me For: I want to be remembered as a Faithful Christian, no matter what the circumstances, and as a good husband and father.
